Suspicious package at Old Oyster Point Road found to be suitcase with clothes

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) – A suspicious package was reported at Old Oyster Point Road and Guinevere Court on Friday.

According to the Newport News dispatch, a call came in at approximately 11:05 a.m. for a suspicious package.

Chopper 10 flew over the scene and captured footage of multiple emergency vehicles and personnel investigating the surrounding area.

According the Assistant Fire Chief Matthew Haraburda, investigation revealed that the suspicious package was an unattended suitcase near a construction dumpster. Clothes were found inside of the suitcase.
