Sussex will soon have its own indoor golf facility with a sports bar.
Co-owner Lori Flora said that Tap In Golf Sims & Sports Bar is scheduled to open Jan. 25. The 5,000-square-foot facility will be in the former Blockbuster Video space at the Pick 'n Save plaza, N65 W24838 Main St. Flora said there will be drink specials and giveaways all next week.
"It will be a lot of fun and something to do for people to continue playing golf. People can stay loose in the winter," said Bret Flora, who co-owns the business with his wife and two business partners, Jill and Travis Kennicker.
Plans call for five golf simulators from Full Swing, which are top of the line and endorsed by Tiger Woods, Jordan Spieth, Brooke Henderson, Justin Rose and Steph Curry, said Lori Flora.
The simulated courses are designed to mimic real-world situations to cater to all skill levels and preferences, said Bret Flora He said the cost to use a course will be about $40 an hour and can be shared by up to four players.
There will be a full bar with at least six televisions and more being installed this week, said Lori Flora. "Over 700 square feet of bar space to enjoy watching your favorite game before or after your round of golf," she said.
Flora also said golf leagues begin Jan. 30, with a registration deadline of Jan. 28. To register or make reservations, visit www.tapingolfbar.com.
Tap In Golf Sims & Sports Bar will be open 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. on weekdays and 10 a.m. to midnight on weekends.
