Suzy Eddie Izzard Confirms Pronouns & Thwarts Deadnamers
Welcome to the stage Suzy Eddie Izzard!
The comedy icon is kicking off Pride Month with a declaration on social media about her name and her pronouns. “As people may now well know, I have added the name ‘Suzy’ to my names,” she wrote. But before bigots on social media could even fire up those fingers to start deadnaming and misgendering, Suzy shut it down. “So going forward I am preferring Suzy but I don’t mind Eddie. And I prefer she/her but I don’t mind he/him,” she said. “So no one can really get it wrong unless they call me Kenneth or Sabrina.”
Oop! Nice try, haters. Izzard continued that, publicly, they are continuing to use the name Eddie. They signed off as “Suzy/Eddie.”

While predictably some on social media used the opportunity to expose their hatred, Suzy’s fans took the moment to offer their praise and support.
Happy pride month, Suzy

No one can really object or kick up a fuss on this. Good on you for being fully yourself, because that’s often the most difficult thing we can do.

LOVE YOU, suzy. been watching you since i was a genderweird kid. as a genderweird adult, you were instrumental in helping me figure out how i always truly felt — that gender is fluid and we don’t have to be confined to one box. you are amazing & so proud of you.

I think you were the first comic who made me laugh so hard I cried. It was the 1st transvestite brigade that did it. I've been a huge fan ever since. Keep being a trailblazer!
