Swan City Soccer Club to join USL W League, USL League Two, USL Academy

The largest competitive youth soccer club in Polk County will be joining the USL W League (women), USL League Two (men), and the USL Academy (youth) for the 2023 season.

Based in Lakeland, Swan City Soccer Club serves over 2,500 families, and provides a complete "player pathway from youth to professional.”

“We are proud and excited to be joining the USL. I have seen the growth and development that occurs when players expose themselves to the USL II and USL W training and matchday environments,” Eoghan Conlon, the Club director, said. “The level of accountability for players maximizes their opportunities for potential fulfillment. This is a significant milestone for our organization and one that promises a thrilling future.”

The USL VP of youth and pre-professional properties, John Nash, said he is elated by the development.

"It's so encouraging to see belief in our pre-professional leagues throughout Florida,” Nash said. "We're excited to welcome Swan City SC into our league, and we know they're going to do great things for the Lakeland community."

According to Swan City, the program is committed to carrying on tradition supporting the development of the youth on and off the field. Swan City will key in on the legacy of producing talent at the youth, collegiate and pre-professional levels. And the local program tries its best to inspire lifelong passion for the game.

The 2023 season is slated to kick off this summer. Those interested should stay tuned for trial dates, venue information and coaching announcements, and follow Swan City SC on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, while eventually visiting the club’s new website, which will launch this month.
