Swans and Xiu Xiu Members Team With Wrekmeister Harmonies for New Album

Experimental metal ensemble Wrekmeister Harmonies have enlisted Swans’ Thor Harris and Xiu Xiu mastermind Jamie Stewart for a new album. The record, titled We Love to Look at the Carnage, arrives February 21 (via Thrill Jockey), and it’ll feature percussion from Harris and electronics from Stewart. Below, check out a new track from the LP called “Coyotes of Central Park.”

Wrekmeister Harmonies, who are led by the core duo of guitarist/vocalist J.R. Robinson and multi-instrumentalist Esther Shaw, recorded We Love to Look at the Carnage with Martin Bisi at BC Studios. According to a press release, the album “charts a restless journey beginning in the middle of the night and ending in the small hours of the morning.” The new album also follows 2018’s The Alone Rush.
