Swarm of Ladybugs Invade Russian Beach

A swarm of ladybugs took over a beach in Russia, footage shared on July 10 shows.

The video, shot by Eremenko Elena Andreevna, shows masses of the bugs covering the sand at a beach in the holiday destination of Za Rodinu, located in the Krasnodar region.

Ladybug infestations tend to occur in warm, dry areas, and Andreevna told Storyful that the Krasnodar territory had been experiencing warm and humid weather.

“In the Krasnodar territory, there has recently been warm and humid weather, it gave a surge in the development of pests,” Andreevna said.

“In fact, in nine years we have never seen anything like this here. We came to the beach, and in one night so many flew there,” she told Storyful. Credit: Eremenko Elena Andreevna via Storyful
