Swasey Central School in Brentwood named NH 2023 Elementary School of the Year
BRENTWOOD — Swasey Central School has been named the 2023 Elementary School of Excellence in New Hampshire by the NH Excellence in Education Awards.
The pre-kindergarten to grade five school, one of eleven in SAU 16, was selected from a pool of several other schools from around the state after a rigorous application and selection process. The school is led by Principal Ron Kew and Assistant Principal Kathryn Gallo, and will be recognized at the 2023 NH Excellence in Education Awards banquet on June 3 at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Manchester.
"We are thrilled to have Swasey Central School recognized as the 2023 Elementary School of Excellence in New Hampshire," said SAU 16 Superintendent David Ryan. "The staff, students, and School Board have worked extremely hard to bring their school to the highest level, so this recognition is worthy of their efforts. Special thanks go to Assistant Superintendent Christopher Andriski who works directly with Swasey for the SAU team, and of course to Principal Kew and Assistant Principal Gallo for their collaborative leadership of this fantastic learning community.”
SAU 16 includes 11 schools from pre-kindergarten to adult education serving the towns of Exeter, Brentwood, Kensington, East Kingston, Newfields and Stratham.
