Police: Hillsboro man barricaded in home with possible firearm prompts standoff

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Officials have announced an early morning standoff in a Hillsboro home has come to a close.

At 8 a.m., deputies said the suspect had been barricaded alone inside a house in the area of Southeast Washington and Seventh Avenue.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office said there was likely a firearm inside the home at the time of the standoff. As a result, the Washington County TNT (SWAT) was sent to the scene to execute a search warrant.

At 9 a.m., authorities arrested the man, identified as 31-year-old Elijah Duane Figure, on charges of felon in possession of firearm, possession of fentanyl and warrant for felony probation violation for unlawful use of a vehicle.

MAX Blue Line service was disrupted in the area, delaying commuters Friday morning.
