SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — The SWAT team was called after a man refused to surrender to Salt Lake City police and barricaded himself inside of his residence, according to the Clinton Police Department.

Just before 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Clinton police were asked to check the 1600 block of N. 2900 West for a vehicle that had evaded Salt Lake City police, Clinton police said.

Officers watched the area until the suspect vehicle arrived at his residence. Officers said they attempted to apprehend the suspect as he fled on foot into the residence, but the suspect refused to surrender and barricaded himself inside.

The suspect was found to have a no-bail warrant for his arrest, police said, and due to their criminal history and warrant, the North Davis Metro SWAT Team was requested to assist.

Police said the suspect is being interviewed by detectives from both the Clinton and Salt Lake City police departments.
