"Of course it's cold. You feel it on your face, you get frost on it right away. My jacket is usually soft, but when I go out in this freezing temperature, it becomes like a plastic bag. As for my mobile phone - when I went out yesterday I had a 90 percent charge level. I held it in my hands. In about 15-20 minutes, the battery was gone."

Yakutsk lies some 3,100 miles east of Moscow

As one of the world's coldest cities,

locals are used to bundling up

(Pyotr Nikolayev, Yakutsk resident)

"Of course it's cold. But as we used to say in school in English, 'No bad season' meaning there is no bad weather. One just needs quality clothes that suit the weather and everything will be fine."
