Sweden to allow NATO to base troops before official accession
"The government has decided that the Swedish Armed Forces may undertake preparations with NATO and NATO countries to enable future joint operations," the statement reads.
Russia will further threaten neighbouring countries in the foreseeable future, as they believe that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin’s territorial ambitions are unclear.
"The decision sends a clear signal to Russia and strengthens Sweden's defense," they said.

Together with Finland, Sweden applied to join the North Atlantic Treaty amid the Russian full-scale war against Ukraine in May 2022.
Finland officially became the 31st NATO member on April 4.
Turkey and Hungary still need to ratify Sweden's application to NATO.
Turkey preconditioned Sweden accession with demands regarding Sweden’s Kurdish communities, including the extradition of 120 people Turkey deems ‘terrorists.’
