As the weather went from winter to summer REAL QUICK, local ice cream shop Whistle Stop opened in their new location just at the right time.

The restaurant, now located on South Saint Louis Boulevard directly across from Howard Park, initially opened in 2021 inside an incubator booth in the Commerce Center building between Colfax and LaSalle avenues. And as business grew, owners knew it was time to start looking for a larger option.

"We knew that the incubator is meant for new businesses to start out, which is exactly what we did, so it worked perfectly for us," co-owner Spenser Bainter said. "… And you can't say no to this (new spot)."

The shop will still offer customer favorites such as house-made (and my personal favorite) blue moon and cold brew milkshakes, but will also add more flavors to its rotation with the larger space.
