These seven bakeries are some of the top in the area, according to Yelp reviewers.

The Copper Crust: 966 S. George St., York

Yelp rating: 4.5

With more than 200 reviews, The Copper Crust has one of the highest Yelp ratings of any bakery on the list. This "artisan scratch bakery" serves more than pastries and cakes. They also have a brunch and lunch menu and they cater special events.

The menu includes items such as breakfast sandwiches, pizzas, burgers and quiche, but the also have a large dessert lineup with various scones, muffins, cakes and croissants.

The reviews say that the homemade bread is "amazing" and the cheesecake is "like a cloud of sweet happiness on a graham cracker crust."

"All baked goods are made on site and are even better than they look," one review said.

The Sugar Rose Bake Shop: 1292 Greensprings Drive, York

Buttercream Dream Bakery offers a wide selection of coffee and teas, as well as scratch-made bakery items. They offer sticky buns and muffins made daily, and they have a large selection of cupcakes, both regular and alcoholic.

This charming 29,000-square-foot farm market offers fresh, local fruits and vegetables, and it boasts an award-winning bakery. They serve breakfast and lunch items, as well as candies, ice cream, drinks and other snack foods.
