New sweet treat store Mochinut will hold its grand opening July 2 at Bayshore
For anyone who is anxious to try a new unique sweet treat at Bayshore's new store, Mochinut, the wait is almost over.
Mochinut, a store that combines American doughnuts with mochi doughnuts, will be opening its first store in Wisconsin. Its grand opening is slated from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday, July 2. The grand opening includes stickers and Mochinut merchandise while supplies last.
“We’re thrilled to bring Mochinut to the Bayshore community,” said Mary Mokwa, senior general manager of Bayshore. “Mochinut offers a fun, one-of-a-kind specialty dining experience to delight our guests.”

Mochinut will be next to Potbelly at 5735 N. Bayshore Drive in Glendale.
What is a mochi doughnut?
According to Mochinut’s website, mochi doughnuts originated from Hawaii and are a combination of American doughnuts and Japanese mochi; they're eight small, round dough balls connected to form a circle.
What is the hype all about?
Mochinut is a unique shop that makes its sweet treat with rice flour, which has a chewy and stretchy texture that is completely different from yeast or cake donuts. There is a “sticky addictiveness" to each bite. According to a company news release, mochi doughnuts will be made every 15 to 30 minutes.
Does the mochi doughnut come in different flavors?
Yes, the mochi doughnut comes in different flavors. The flavors vary by store and by week. Some of the flavors include strawberry yogurt, milk pebble, coffee, black sugar, strawberry funnel, matcha and red velvet.
What else will the store serve besides doughnuts?
The store will sell bubble milk tea known as boba, Korean rice flour hot dogs and soft-serve ice cream.
Is this a new business?
Mochinut was founded in Cerritos, California, in 2020. There are over 140 locations throughout the United States.
What are the hours?
The hours are slated to be 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. seven days a week.
