The Sweet Way Prince George Keeps Track of His Parents on Their Royal Tour
If, like us, you've been following every step of Kate Middleton and Prince William's royal tour in the Caribbean, then you might be wondering how their three children feel about the very glamorous 'work' trip. As we already know, thanks to Prince William, the Cambridge kids will have been "jealous" to see their mum and dad sampling chocolate at the cocoa farm they visited yesterday – but, how much of their trip do Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis actually know about?
The answer to that question, it seems, is quite a lot. In fact, eight-year-old Prince George even keeps track of his parent's whereabouts while they're away. "We let them know where we are and he finds us on the map and puts a pin in it and shares with the others," the Duke of Cambridge revealed while on a visit to the Canal Pech Ruins yesterday.
Given how often the Duke and Duchess travel – lucky for some, eh? – it's no wonder that their little ones want to know where they are and what they're up to. Speaking about their children's interest in their royal vacations, earlier this month Prince William revealed that they ask plenty of questions, which has resulted in the Cambridge family adopting a rather sweet travel tradition.
"They are always asking us where we are going," William said during a visit to Wales to mark St David's Day. "And we show them where we are on the map," he added, per People.
Unfortunately for the young royals, they weren't able to join their parents on their week-long trip to Belize, Jamaica and the Bahamas, due to the trip taking place during school term time. Instead, they've remained at their Kensington Palace home where they're being looked after by their long-term nanny.
There's no doubt that Kate and William will miss their three kids while they're on tour – although, that's not to say they won't enjoy some alone time to themselves. "I'm sure there's a part of them that's looking [forward] to some child-free time away, like any working parents," royal expert Jennie Bond, who travelled on several royal tours with Prince Charles, told OK! magazine. "Royal tours are definitely not holidays but I'm sure there'll be a few moments to hold hands under the stars on the beach."
