SWEPCO issues Requests for Proposals renewable energy resources

On Thursday, Southwestern Electric Power Co. (SWEPCO) issued two Request for Proposals (RFPs) for the purchase of wind and solar generation resources.

The RFPs solicit bids for the purchase of wind resources of up to 1,900 megawatts (MW) and solar resources up to 500 MW. Wind resources must be a minimum of 100 MW and solar resources must be a minimum of 50 MW.

These projects will be required to be interconnected with the Southwest Power Pool (SPP) and be located in Arkansas, Louisiana, Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas or Missouri.

The proposals are due by Nov. 17.
