Track and Field

Ten Southwest Florida teams competed in the First Baptist Invitational on Friday, before lighting halted action before the Girls' 400 Meter, about halfway through the track events. Here are the team results for the the First Baptist Invitational before the meet was cancelled.

THURSDAY

Softball

Southwest Florida Christian 13, Island Coast 4: Seventh-Grader Braelyn Davis pitched a completed game for the King's, allowing four hits and two earned runs while striking out twelve. Kaley Fleischer went 3-for-4 with two RBI and two runs, while Bella Gee went 2-for-3 with two RBI and three runs.

Fort Myers 5, Naples 3: The Green Wave defeated the Golden Eagles after scoring two runs in the decisive seventh inning. Alexa Bent led Fort Myers' bats after going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Julia Knowler picked up the win in the circle after allowing two hits and just one run while striking out two.

North Fort Myers 13, Gulf Coast 0: Kaliyah Williams lasted five innings for the Red Knights, giving up no runs and three hits while striking out eight. Azlynn Gomes and Kendall Wylie combined for seven RBI. Wylie registered a two-run homer, while Gomes added two doubles with four RBI to the winning effort. Audrey Florenzano tallied three hits in four at-bats.

Baseball

First Baptist 7, Immokalee 2: Easton Prodanov went 2-for-3 for the Lions, and tallied two RBI in the win. Jacob Melancon went 2-for-4 with two runs, while Dakota Meister earned the win on the mound. Meister pitched a complete game for First Baptist, allowing just two hits and one earned run while striking out seven. Adam Turrubiartez hit a home run for the Indians, and finished 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run.

WEDNESDAY

Baseball

Canterbury 4, SFCA 2 (5 innings): The Cougars moved to 16-2 on the season in a rain-shortened, one-hitter win. Evan Taveras and J.T. Huether both went yard for Canterbury.

Island Coast 15, Charlotte 8: The Gators (15-2) slugged their way to a win over the Tarpons. Jake Mueller and Jordi Guerrero both homered in the win, with six different players driving in at least one run.

West Broward 7, Naples 6: The Golden Eagles came up just short on the road, falling to the Bobcats. Johnny King pitched three scoreless innings, and was a home run away from the cycle.

Girls Tennis

Gulf Coast 4, Barron Collier 2: The Sharks took home the CCAC Girls Tennis Championship after a balanced team effort took down the Cougars. "What a great contribution by every player on our roster over the past three days of the tournament," said Gulf Coast head coach Mark Vorhees. "We had to play our absolute best today against a great Barron Collier team."

Taviloglu/Nix (GC) 6-1, 6-3 No. 2: Dihenia/Rochford (GC) d. Knoth/Hilton (BC) 6-3, 6-4.

Oasis 5, North Port 2: The Sharks improve to 9-2 with the win over North Port, led by juniors Sophia Abreu and Sophia Pollard, who took home wins in No. 1 Singles and No. 2 Singles, respectively. Freshman Emily Feichthaler continues her strong season, and remains undefeated in Singles action with her win in No. 3 singles. Cecilia Menedez won in No. 4 singles 6-1, 6-1. Abreu and Pollard won in No. 1 Doubles 8-3, while Feichthaler and Menedez won No. 2 Doubles 8-1.

Boys Tennis

Gulf Coast 5, Naples 0: The Sharks captured their third straight CCAC championship after sweeping the Golden Eagles. "Naples played outstanding and we were able finish some tight matches in singles play," said head coach Tom Zucchi. "Both teams set their sights on a district title next week."

Results: Singles- No. 1: Hudson Fry (GC) def Rey Pozonyi (N) 6-1, 6-1; No. 2: Akhil Nimmagadda (GC) def Jack Tucker (N) 6-0, 6-3; No. 3: Alex Mazza (GC) def Carlos Correa (N) 6-2, 7-5; No. 4: Mark Taviloglu (GC) def Spencer Carley (N) 6-4, 3-6, 13-11; No. 5: Pablo Viera (GC) def Michael Richey-Klein (N) 6-3, 6-7 (5), 13-11.

Oasis 4, North Port 3: Captains Eric Feichthaler and John Vezzola led the Sharks to their sixth win of the year after winning in Singles and Doubles matches. Eric and his brother Tyler won No. 1 Doubles, while Liam Greco and Vezzolawon No. 2 Doubles.

Boys Lacrosse

Calvary Christian 14, Immokalee 5: Jesus Martinez scored two goals in the Indian loss, while Marvin Meseau, Juan Vasquez, and Alexis Hernandez added one goal each.

TUESDAY

Girls Tennis

Oasis 7, Ida Baker 0: Sophia Abreu came out on top of a two-hour slugfest in No. 1 Singles (7-5 4-6, 10-5). Sophia Pollard picked up a win in No. 2 Singles, while Freshman Emily Fiechthalre remained undefeated in singles play with her win in No. 3 Singles. Isabella Bivens won in No. 5 Singles, while Sophia Ordway added a win in No. 6 Singles. Abreu and Pollard won in No. 1 Doubles. Menendez and Feichthaler rounded out the sweep with a win in No. 2 Doubles.

Estero 7, Bonita Springs 0: Megan Lay won in No. 1 Singles, while Gianella Gechele won in No. 2 Singles. Kate Mackle won in No. 3 Singles, and Catherin Uceta rounded out singles play with a win in No. 5 Singles. Gechele and Lay won in No. 1 Doubles, while Syndey Ramsey and Mackie won in No. 2 Doubles.

Mariner 4, Charlotte 3: Noah Riascos won in No. 3 Singles for the Tritons, while Damien Gleason and Robert Preston won in No. 4 and No. 5 Singles, respectively. Kieran Kurkimilis and Preston secured the Mariner victory with a win No. 2 Doubles.

Estero 5, Bonita Springs 2: John Broduer, Evan Combs, Nicky Snow, and John Nassif all picked up wins in singles play for the Wildcats, while Brodeur and Snow added a win in No. 1 doubles. Jacobi Weinberg won for the Bull Sharks in No. 3 Singles, while Mason Burks and Weinberg won in No. 2 doubles.

Gulf Coast 4, Palmetto Ridge 0: Singles: No. 1: Aaron Viera (GC) 6-3, 6-1 def. Mateo Castro (PR); No. 2: William Monette (GC) 6-1, 6-3 def. Aerick Pawson; No. 5: Bharath Ram (GC) 6-0, 6-3 def. Sean Blume. Doubles: Laxya Patel and Jack MacVay (GC) 6-3, 6-3 def. Matthew Brown and Andrew Razzano.

Baseball

Mariner 10, Cape Coral 7 (10 inn.): The Tritons scored three runs in the seventh inning to force extra innings, led by Romero Gist, who went 4-for-4 with one run and one RBI in the win. Ryan Kotarski earned the win on the mound after allowing two hits and no runs while striking out one in one inning pitched. Alex Kolasinski went 4-for-5 with two runs for the Seahawks, and allowed four hits and three runs while striking out four in four innings on the mound.

First Baptist 7, Marco Island 6: Preston Shemansky hit a walk-off double with bases loaded in the Lions' win, and finished 1-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.

North Fort Myers 4, Fort Myers 1: Dylan Nesmith scattered 3 hits over 5 innings to pick up the win on the mound for the Red Knights.

Softball

Cypress Lake 2, Bonita Springs 0: Sammi Rosado spun a complete game for the Panthers, tallying 15 strikeouts. Megan Hall led the bats after going 1-for-2 with an RBI.

Oasis 7, St. John Neumann 6: Eva Selfridge allowed six runs on 13 hits over seven innings, striking out five and walking one. Alaina Shugars led the Sharks with two hits in four at-bats. Sophia Escobar tallied 10 strikeouts in the loss. Asha Dickerson went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBI, while Sophie Whitt went 2-for-4 with a triple and three RBI in the loss.

Boys Lacrosse

Barron Collier 12, Venice 1: Rocco LaTour put on a show during the Cougars' senior night, tallying five goals in the winning effort. Jake Waltbillig netted two goals, while Christian Toth tacked on one goal. Collin Quinsey tallied 12 saves for Barron Collier.

Immokalee 8, Coral Glades 5: Marvin Museau led the Indians with two goals, while Jesus Martinez, Ivan Jimenez, Juan Vasquez, Ryan Mendoza, and Max Sosa all scored one goal each.

MONDAY

Baseball

Southwest Florida Christian 7, Lely 4: Tyler Miller earned the win on the mound for the King's after going 2.1 innings with three earned runs and four strikeouts. Jake Trottier was handed the save after allowing one hit and striking out seven in four innings pitched. Cole Ingole went 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI while Reed Guess went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

North Fort Myers 14, Palmetto Ridge 5: Garry Kamphouse went 3-for-3 for the Red Knights with three runs and two RBI. Tommy Eisminger went 2-for-2 with a triple and four runs, while Brady Grados added a two-run homer to the winning effort. Kaleb Nesmith earned the win on the mound for North Fort Myers.

Estero 16, Mariner 1 (6 inn.): The Wildcats erupted for nine runs in the sixth inning, led by Evan Vellano, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and one RBI in the win. Jacob Vail went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI. Justin Breitenstein earned the win on the mound after giving up seven hits and no runs in five innings pitched.

Softball

Palmetto Ridge 6, Lely 4: Haley Springs gave the Bears the lead in the seventh inning with her two-RBI single. Desitiny Cole lasted four innings in the circke for the Bears, allowing two hits and four runs while striking out four. Brooke Bledsoe pitched seven innings for the Trojans, allowing six runs on seven hits while striking out 13.

Riverdale 11, Gulf Coast 7: Sophia Pasquerella led the Sharks after going 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI. Emma Caetano had a home run with one run and one RBI, while Hannah Rearden went 2-for-4 with one run for Gulf Coast. Lilly Lloyd had one hit, one RBI, one run, and two stolen bases in the loss.

St. John Neumann 19, Everglades City 3 (6 inn.): Sophia Escobar led the Celtics to a sound win with three hits, including a home run. Escobar tallied 13 strikeouts while giving up no runs or walks in her time in the circle. Madison Floyd also had three hits, including a grand slam home run, while Asha Dickerson a homer of her own to a the winning effort. Jaina Barth tacked on three hits to the dominant win.

Southwest Florida Christian 11, Mason Classical 1 (5 inn.): Seventh Grader Braelyn Davis earned the win for the King's after tallying 10 strikeouts in five innings in the circle while allowing just two hits and one run. Bella Gee went 2-for-3 at the plate with two runs and three RBI. Sarah Yarnell added a double with two RBI to the winning effort.

Cypress Lake 4, LaBelle 0: Sammi Rosado spun a complete game for the Panthers and tallied 10 strikeouts with just two hits. Jocelyn Folden added a two-RBI triple to the winning effort.

North Fort Myers 16, Immokalee 5: Mia Lane went 4-for-4 for the Red Knights. Kaliyah Williams, Kendall Wylie, Audrie Florenzano, Desirae Devine, and Azlynn Gomes all tallied multiple hits in the win. Wylie picked up the win in the circle, giving up three hits and three runs in three innings pitched while striking out five.

Fort Myers 9, Barron Collier 6: Tegan Webb went 2-for-3 with two RBI, while Sage Rodmyre and Reece Harris hit one home run each for the Green Wave.

Girls Lacrosse

Lely 14, Palmetto Ridge 2: Alexa Swales scored two goals for the short-handed Bears in their last regular-season home game of the year.
