WEYMOUTH − Word of Weymouth's Donut King's latest custom doughnut creation has spread quickly − or maybe the better word would be swiftly.

The Middle Street shop has come up with a doughnut featuring Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce's number 87 jersey with his girlfriend and music titan Taylor Swift's name on it.

The pair have been dating for months, and Swift has been a near constant presence at Kelce's games, which will culminate this year with the team's trip to Super Bowl LVIII against the San Francisco 49ers on Feb. 11.

A store employee said they will continue making the doughnuts up to the Super Bowl, which is a good thing given the number of people in line Friday morning asking for them.

The nearly 36-year-old East Weymouth business likes to switch things up. In addition to the jersey design, they also have another one with a football on top of green base with lines drawn to resemble a football field. Other doughnuts of note include ones for the Chinese Lunar New Year and Valentine's Day.

Donut King is located at 411 Middle St. It is open from 4 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily.

When did Donut King first open in Weymouth?

Donut King first opened its doors in 1987 after Sin Ty immigrated to the United States and started the business with his wife Denise. Despite a engineering degree from Boston University, Sin Ty said he went into the restaurant business to start a company that could involve the whole family and, ultimately, be passed down.

In the decades since, the kitchen has filled with his three children, nieces, nephews and family friends who make fresh breakfast, more than 40 variety of doughnuts and pastries.
