Jefferson Street Farmers Market is 4:30 to 7 p.m. in downtown Burlington.

Moose Lodge, 2529 Mount Pleasant St., Bingo games will have early bird at 6:30 p.m., regular games at 7 p.m., with Yolanda's food available for dine-in or carryout.

Steamboat Senior Center, 501 Jefferson St., Jam Band will play from 1-3 p.m. The noon meal will be a potluck. Weekly activities have a $2 cover charge.

Wayland Economic Development Group is hosting a pre-Memorial Day Breakfast this year, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Your Choice Restaurant, Wayland, with pancakes, scrambled eggs, hash browns, whole hog sausage and a beverage for a freewill donation to help support the start-up of the new Wayland Area Childcare center.

Burlington Bees Open House and Meet the Bees Event is 4-6 p.m. at Community Field. Fans can pick up season tickets, buy souvenirs, get limited concessions including new menu addition chili dogs, tour the stadium, meet the team and bring a glove to play catch on the field. Fort Madison Public Pool opens for the season. Open swim hours are 1-5 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Monday through Friday and 1-5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Daily rate is $4, or purchase a season pass.

Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast is 6:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Port of Burlington, 400 N. Front St. Tickets are $8 in advance, $10 at the door for adults; $3/$4 for children ages 3-12 and available at Burlington Fareway and Hy-Vee stores, from any Kiwanis member, or at the door.

Main Street Mount Pleasant Farmhouse Central Vintage Market is 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Central Park with antique and vintage decor, repurposed, re-imagined or up-cycled items, handcrafted goods, architectural salvage, primitive and farmhouse accents.

Moose Lodge 671, 624 Avenue G, Fort Madison, will host Charging Rhino Karaoke at 7 p.m. Admission is free.

Muster on the Mississippi Historical Timeline Event at Old Fort Madison, 716 Riverview Drive, will have uniformed re-enactors from wars in U.S. and pre-US history, and, for the first time, knights and Romans. Fort opens at 9 a.m. May 28 and 29, and 10 a.m. May 30.

New London VFW Post 7641, 802 E. McKinley St., catfish and chicken dinner is 5-7 p.m. Catfish is $12/person; chicken is $8/person, all-white chicken is $9/person.

Snake Alley Criterium is 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. The criterium is an incredibly challenging bicycle race centered around Burlington's historic Snake Alley, 276 feet of century-old bricks set in 5 switchbacks that climb more than 60 feet in one block. For a map, visit snakealleycriterium.com

Sunny's Legacy, helping sick, stray and feral cats and kittens, is accepting redeemable cans and plastic bottles from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Saturday in the old Burlington ShopKo parking lot.

Vanessa Collier contemporary blues artist performance is 5-11 p.m. on the Moon and Stars Stage, right across from The Washington, 306 Washington St. The event is BYOB. Door admission is $25.

Wapello Community Pool opens for the season at 12:30 p.m. New this year, the pool will offer a shared family pass between Winfield and Wapello. This will allow families to visit both pools without having to pay daily admission each time they visit. The cost is $200 for the season.

West Burlington Public Pool, 602 W. Burlington Ave., opens for the season. The pool is open daily from 11:30 a.m.-7 p.m. Daily admission is $4. There are no season passes this year.

Sunday

American Legion Auxiliary will place pennies on the veterans headstones at 10 a.m. at National Cemetery in Keokuk. Anyone interested in helping to place the coins on the headstones should meet them at the entrance gate of the old section of the cemetery.

Homemade Ice Cream Social is 3-6 p.m. at the Wever Oddfellows Lodge, 1696 U.S. 61, also serving maidrites, ham salad, hot dogs, pies, cakes and drinks.

Burlington Area Veterans Council Memorial Day ceremony is 10:30 a.m. at Burlington Memorial Auditorium. Coffee will be served before the service, and after the service with donuts.

Moose Lodge 579, 2529 Mount Pleasant St. Memorial Day Picnic will serve Chicken fish, Potato Salad, Baked Beans, spring Salad. Serving starts at 11:45 a.m., Cake walk is 1 p.m., bingo starts at 2 p.m. There will be raffles.

Nauvoo, Illinois, special Memorial Day picnic with music performances and a patriotic flag ceremony, sponsored by Nauvoo Betterment Association, is 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Meal cost is a freewill donation.
