Swonger powers Licking County Settlers in victory at Southern Ohio

Logan Swonger piled up four hits and five RBI on Sunday, igniting the Licking County Settlers in a 13-6 victory against the host Southern Ohio Copperheads in Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League play.

Swonger, a Newark graduate, hit two doubles. Licking Valley graduate Chase Whisner had two hits, including a triple, two runs scored and an RBI, and Cade Nelis added two hits and two RBI and Turner Hill two hits and two runs scored.

Valley graduate Logan Bragg allowed four hits and two runs in four innings of relief for the Settlers (12-11), who are in the midst of a road trip and do not return home until hosting the Copperheads for a doubleheader at 5 p.m. July 11 at Denison University.
