Sydney Harbour shrouded by thick fog

Several ferry services were cancelled and delayed, while a road weather alert was issued by the Bureau of Meteorology, warning of hazardous driving conditions.

The fog came after cold air from the Antarctic dropped temperatures on Thursday (June 11) in Sydney, the country's most most populous city, to just 10 degrees Celsius (50 degree Fahrenheit), a 37-year record.

The fog began to lift by mid morning.
