Sydney Sweeney Addressed Criticism Over Her Looks on Instagram Live
Euphoria star Sydney Sweeney hosted an emotional livestream on her Instagram account in response to negative criticism surrounding her looks on Saturday night.
The actress, known for playing Cassie Howard on Euphoria and Snake on Once Upon A Time...In Hollywood, was trending on Twitter because of cruel tweets criticizing her appearance. Shortly after, she hopped on Instagram Live to show her audience how this news affected her.
#Euphoria star Sydney Sweeney turns to Instagram Live in tears after trending on Twitter due to a viral post mocking her appearance:
“I think it’s really important for people to see how words actually affect people.” pic.twitter.com/M9viGqAjbf— Pop Crave (@PopCrave) May 9, 2021
"Apparently I am trending on Twitter right now for being ugly," Sydney said in the live stream. "I think it's really important for people to see how words actually affect people. I know everyone says, 'You can't read things,' and 'You shouldn't read things,' but like, I'm a f***ing person."
She then showed how she was lounging on a couch with her dog, Tank, while watching HGTV and wearing a Snuggie.
"People need to be nicer on social media because it's really f***ed up," she continued, tears streaming down her face.
Sydney's fans also took to Twitter to defend the actress and shut down any negative comments about her body. A lot of the hateful comments allegedly came from accounts hiding behind an avatar.
