Sydney Zoo Welcomes Squirrel Monkey Births

Staff at Taronga Zoo in Sydney have recently welcomed the birth of four Bolivian squirrel monkey babies, bringing the season’s total to seven youngsters.

The zoo said the seventh squirrel monkey of the season was born on January 21 and it brings the total number of squirrel monkeys at the zoo to 17.

The zoo said all seven babies were doing extremely well.

“The three eldest monkeys have become extremely active and more confident, especially in the last few weeks. They are starting to spend less time attached to their mums and are constantly exploring, climbing and swinging around their exhibit,” said primate keeper Scott Brown.
