Sylvester Stallone Is Launching a Collection of 'Rocky' and 'Rambo' NFTs

A growing number of celebrities are getting in on the NFT game, with stars like Kevin Hart, Shaquille O'Neal, Gwyneth Paltrow, Reese Witherspoon, Paris Hilton and Justin Bieber all singing the praises of the nebulous new technological asset. Whether you're on board with the validity of non-fungible tokens (which grant exclusive ownership of digital art on the blockchain) or think they're nothing more than cyber-snake oil, it seems that they are here to stay. At least for the time being.
The latest star to embrace NFTs is actor Sylvester Stallone, who has just announced he has created his own collection of collectible digital artwork inspired by the numerous iconic movie roles he has accumulated throughout his career. It is the brainchild of Stallone and his business partner Bill Zanker, brought to life through their joint enterprise theBIZ.com.
The PlanetSly collection, set to launch in April, will consist of 9,997 individual pieces of artwork, dubbed SlyGuys. Much like the now-ubiquitous "Bored Ape" template, SlyGuy NFTs can be customized with a wide range of costuming options from films like Demolition Man, Judge Dredd, and the Rocky and Rambofranchises.
"Every NFT is unique," said Stallone in an Instagram video introducing the venture. "Over 200 incredible attributes like boxing gloves, crazy weapons, and even my large dog, all inspired by my lifelong love of art and comic books."
SlyGuys will also function as a token of membership, entitling the holder to access to virtual movie screenings and even in-personevents, including (depending on the SlyGuy) a face-to-face dinner with Stallone himself.
PlanetSly comes just months after the actor launched the Sly Stallone Shop, an online storefront where fans can buy clothing and merch celebrating characters like John Rambo and Rocky Balboa, including Rocky's boxing gloves and famous grey sweats and a J. Rambo-branded fatigue shirt.
