Nov. 21—The Terre Haute Symphony Orchestra will take the stage for its annual holiday concert, A Symphony Christmas, at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 2 at Tilson Auditorium. The orchestra will perform holiday favorites such as "Sleigh Ride," "Festive Sounds of Hanukkah," selections from "The Nutcracker" plus an audience singalong.

The performance will feature Angela Brown, world-renowned soprano, singing "Sweet Little Jesus Boy," "O Holy Night," "My Simple Christmas Wish" and more.

"I am excited to begin the holiday season with the Terre Haute Symphony under the direction of my dear friend and musical collaborator, Maestro David Bowden," said Brown. "It is such a beautiful opportunity for me because we have performed on many musical occasions throughout my career. I'm going to have lots of family and friends in the audience and I can't wait to make new friends in Terre Haute during this festive season."

The concert, conducted by Artistic Director David Bowden, will open with Leroy Anderson's "Bugler's Holiday," first recorded in 1954 by the composer. "Bugler's Holiday" is performed by a trio of trumpeters with orchestra. Anderson has ties to Terre Haute and was initiated as an honorary member of the Gamma Omicron chapter of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia at Indiana State University in 1969.
