Mar. 9—Listeners will be transported to Czech lands through a performance next weekend by the Saint Joseph Symphony.

The orchestra will perform the music of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Antonin Dvorák for its "Czech Mix" concert at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 18, at the Missouri Theater. A social time to follow at Felix Street Gourmet.

Both Mozart and Dvorák spent a lot of time in Prague. Mozart's Symphony No. 38 was called "Prague" because it premiered there in 1787. Dvorák, a native of the Czech Republic, composed most of his nine symphonies there.

The performance is about one hour in length with no intermission. Tickets range from $15 to $45 with special student pricing for all but Loge seats. Tickets are available online, by phone or in person from the symphony office (120 S. Eighth St.), www.saintjosephsymphony.org or by phone at 816-233-7701.
