T.J. Watt, Steelers star and former Wisconsin standout, suffers major injury in Week 1

The Pittsburgh Steelers survived a wild Week 1 game with the reigning AFC champion Cincinnati Bengals to win on an overtime field goal, but they also endured a major loss.
T.J. Watt, the former Pewaukee High School and University of Wisconsin star who happens to be the reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year, left late in the contest with what ESPN's Adam Schefter is reporting as possibly a torn pectoral muscle. Tests Monday should show the full severity.

T.J.'s brother, J.J., was limited to eight games in 2019 after likewise suffering a torn pec.
It's unclear if T.J.'s season would be over with that diagnosis confirmed. Last year, T.J. tied the NFL record in single-season sack total with 22 1/2 on his way to a lopsided win as NFL DPOY.
Meanwhile, J.J. is inactive for the Arizona Cardinals' Week 1 battle with the Kansas City Chiefs as he nurses a calf injury.
T.J. Watt had six tackles, a sack and leaping interception at the line of scrimmage before his departure.
