T-Mobile store to open on Cooper Drive

Nov. 28—HENDERSON — A new corporate-owned T-Mobile store is slated to open on Dec. 16, bringing the service provider to the area and improving cell service for customers in the area, Store Manager Bria Byrd said.

Additionally, a 5G tower is planned for constructed at a yet-to-be disclosed location in Vance County, joining two existing T-Mobile towers on Dabney and Cooper drives.

The corporation and its employees are "excited to serve the community," Byrd said. The store will be the first one owned by T-Mobile to open in Vance County.

"I am excited about this new business," Henderson-Vance Chamber of Commerce President Michele Burgess said. "On a professional level, the corporate T-Mobile store will bring in a lot of regional shoppers from nearby North Carolina and Virginia counties. They are going to provide complete services with internet, phones, tablets and qualified reps to answer customer questions on site."

Burgess noted that she and her husband, being T-Mobile customers, "will enjoy having easy, quick access to a local store."

The store will have 10 employees. Starting Dec. 16, it'll be open Monday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and on Sunday from 12 p.m. to 6.

New customers will get a deal to the tune of 20% off all of the provider's plans. The store opening will give locals an alternative to Verizon whilst increasing T-Mobile's cell coverage in the area, which means better service, Byrd said.
