Tabernacle Choir announces next stop on world tour: Florida and Georgia

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — The Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square has announced the third stop on their “Hope” world tour: three concerts in Florida and Georgia in September 2024.

The shows in Florida and Georgia are scheduled for Sept. 5 through Sept. 12, 2024, and will be on the North America Southeast leg of the choir’s tour. According to a press release, guest performers are expected to join the group for its shows in Florida and Georgia.

The shows in Florida and Georgia are part of a multi-year project of the choir’s, in which the group plans to travel twice a year to perform around the world. The Tabernacle Choir previously performed in Mexico in 2023, and announced plans to perform in the Philippines in 2024.

The third stop of the tour is scheduled to begin near Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on Sept. 7, in the largest indoor arena in the state — with more than 19,000 seats available.

At the show in Georgia, the group is scheduled to make a special appearance at the Martin Luther King, Jr. International Chapel at Morehouse College on Sept. 9.

In 2023, clubs from Morehouse College and Spelman College were invited to perform in Salt Lake City on the Tabernacle Choir’s weekly broadcast.

“When the Morehouse College and Spelman College glee clubs performed with the Tabernacle Choir in Salt Lake City, the music was unforgettable,” Choir President Michael O. Leavitt said. “When these great choir organizations perform together, the result is both beautiful and culturally significant.”

The choir’s visit will finish with a performance in Atlanta, Georgia, with a Sept. 11 performance in a 16,000-seat arena.

“Our goal is to magnify the Choir’s impact throughout the world by helping people feel God’s love for His children,” Leavitt said.

While the concerts are free, tickets are required for entry. The choir said information on tickets will be available later.
