Hello, fast food fans. We have a birthday to celebrate!!! Taco Bell's beloved Baja Blast, the aqua-blue soda made specifically to drink with Taco Bell food, is turning 15. To celebrate, the fast food chain unveiled a Baja Blast Birthday Freeze at August's Taco Bell Hotel and Resort. Now, just a few months later, the drink is being added to stores nationwide. Yay!

As for how it's made—something people are fascinated with these days—it's pretty simple: Taco Bell employees add rainbow-colored sprinkles to the bottom of the cup and then fill 'er up with a Baja Blast Freeze. Then, it's stirred around so the sprinkles float throughout your drink. The sprinkles are the only difference from the original, but hey, it's a birthday! They're kind of necessary.

The freeze was added to menus October 17 for a limited time, while supplies last, Taco Bell confirmed. You can order a regular size for $2.49 or a large for $2.79; during happy hour (every day from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.), they're just $1.

In case you forgot the origins of the Baja Blast, this Taco Bell video exists to refresh your memory. In short, back in 2004, Taco Bell and Pepsi did the Lord's work and had their flavor gurus come up with a custom soda meant to be drunk with Taco Bell foods.

The result was a Mountain Dew with an extra splash of "tropical lime" flavor, dubbed the Baja Blast. Alternate names that were nixed include Cliff Dive, Lime Zone, Coast Lime, Border Blast, and...wait for it...Shock-Apulco. Seems like they made a good choice!!
