Taco Bell Opened A Digital-Only Restaurant In NYC And It’s So Futuristic Inside

Restaurants continue to adjust their menus and processes to improve the customer experience during the pandemic. For Taco Bell, part of those adjustments include offering more restaurants that focus on the "Cantina" experience, and the first of its kind digital-only cantina has officially opened up in Times Square.

The appeal of restaurants like this one is the efficiency, especially during the ongoing pandemic when many customers want to lessen the time they spend indoors at restaurants. The digital-only set-up of this location allows for easy pick-up and features digital order pickup cubbies so guests can easily grab their food before heading out the door.

Cantina Taco Bell locations also offer alcohol, so those that choose to order from this new location can get a boozy drink to pair with their meal too. A spokesperson for Taco Bell explained that the grand opening of this digital-only cantina in Times Square felt like the perfect match-up since the efficient technology goes hand in hand with the pace and energy of New York City.

To get your food you'll have to order through the app (there are no menu boards in the restaurant), then pick it up in one of the cubbies. The spot also includes an exclusive new frozen drink, merch for sale for those true Taco Bell fans like pens, keychains, and pins. If you aren't in the area to check out the cantina for yourself, you can take a 3D tour of the place while hoping the next location hits your neighborhood soon.
