Taco chain with a mission to end world hunger plans two Kansas City area restaurants
Arkansas-based Tacos 4 Life has a dual mission: serve great food and help end world hunger.
Now it plans to enter the Kansas City market with two area locations by two different franchisees.
A location in the former Kneaders Bakery & Cafe at 12180 Blue Valley Parkway, Overland Park, is scheduled to open in late summer. Kneaders closed its three area locations two years ago.
A location at 1105 N.W. Missouri 7, Blue Springs, is scheduled to open in the fall under a different franchisee.
Tacos include grilled chicken, mango habanero, chicken bacon ranch, fried chicken, classic beef, Korean BBQ steak, spicy chorizo and blackened mahimahi. Taco Meals come with sides such as Mexican creamed corn, refried black beans, cilantro pesto rice and queso rice.
It also has chips and dips, Mexican Cobb salad, tropical salads with mango and pineapple, rice bowls, chicken bacon ranch quesadillas, cookies and children’s meals. And it offers catering services.
Founders Austin and Ashton Samuelson opened the first location in June 2014 in Conway, Arkansas, and now have 21 locations in Arkansas, Texas, North Carolina, Missouri, Oklahoma and Tennessee.
For every taco, bowl, salad, quesadilla or nacho purchased, the company will donate 24 cents for Feed My Starving Children, a nonprofit organization committed to ending childhood starvation. The company said it has donated more than 20 million meals since 2014.
