A third location for the Taco John's fast Mexican food chain is confirmed for Clarksville.

This time, it's Interstate 24's Exit 8 getting in on the resurgent Taco John's craze.

Site preparation work is already underway near the corner of Hankook Road and International Boulevard at the south entrance to the Clarksville-Montgomery County Corporate Business Park.

There, Kevin Newell, of Supreme Foods Inc., is planning for the new business to open possibly as soon as December under the current timetable.

"We hope to be open by then, but we're not totally sure," Newell said.

"I like this location because of the interstate traffic and accessibility to the industrial park as well as the Rossview and Kirkwood schools complexes," he said.

The Clarksville-Montgomery County Industrial Development Board has been setting aside a limited number of lots inside the industrial park for retail development to conveniently serve the thousands of workers in manufacturing and distribution there.

Newell also owns Burger King and Popeye's chicken locations next to the site of the coming Taco John's at Exit 8.

He recently opened his first Clarksville store at 955 N. Riverside Drive. He said that location is already "well-received" by the community.

A second Clarksville Taco John's location is currently in development at 1800 Fort Campbell Blvd. He thinks it may open for business at the end of next month.

The Taco John’s menu offers several signature items, including Meat & Potato Burritos, Stuffed Grilled Tacos, Potato Olés and Fried Chicken Tacos.
