Taco de Mayo: 36 reader and staff suggestions for great tacos around OKC metro area
Cinco de Mayo has many people seeking out a place to have tacos, and in Oklahoma City there are a lot of options.
Perhaps you'll head to an official Cinco de Mayo event, like the one being held by Iguana Mexican Grill, 9 NW 9. From 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday, the restaurant will be open for regular business and will also host a celebration in its parking lot with food, a bar, giveaways, a DJ, face painting, bounce house, photobooth and more.
And if you are looking for the experience of trying a bunch of carne asada tacos from different chefs at one time, you can purchase tickets to a taco competition and tasting at VZD's Restaurant and Bar scheduled for May 13. A ticket will get you tacos from 15 different chefs from across the metro area, plus you'll get the chance to weigh in on who wins as crowd favorite.
