A new taco shop and cocktail bar has opened its doors in the neighborhood. Called Felipe Rodriguez Tequila House, the fresh addition is located at 900 E. Washington St. in Thornton Park.
Grab family and friends and stop by this new restaurant and bar, which features a variety of Latin food and drinks. On the menu, expect to see classic Mexican dishes like ceviche, tacos, tostadas and quesadillas. The full bar offers a selection of handcrafted cocktails, from The Gringo with Captain Morgan, Amaretto, Peach Schnapps, pineapple juice and cranberry juice to La Playa, with Dobel Tequila, lime juice, simple syrup, orange juice and Grenadine.
According to the business' Facebook page, "Felipe Rodriguez grew up on a blue agave farm in Mexico. He came from nothing, but struck gold with his tequila. The community built Felipe Rodriguez and now he's giving back to the community. He brought his tequila to the United States to share with us."
