Tagovailoa to make two consecutive appearances on Monday Night Football. And Baker update

As it turns out, Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa will appear on Monday Night Football two weeks in a row.

Beyond playing in next week’s matchup against visiting Tennessee, Tagovailoa has committed to make an appearance on the ESPN2 ManningCast alternate broadcast of Monday night’s Jacksonville-Cincinnati game.

Tagovailoa will appear with Eli Manning and Peyton Manning during their presentation of the game, which supplements the traditional ABC/ESPN broadcast.

The Manning brothers’ ESPN2 game coverage – which has won two Emmy awards - is produced by Omaha Productions, Peyton Manning’s media company,

The other guests Monday will include former NFL receiver Chad Johnson and Fanduel TV’s Kay Adams.

ManningCast guests this season have included actor and former politician Arnold Schwarzenegger (who fed his pet donkey), Will Ferrell, Lindsey Vonn, Patrick Mahomes, Mark Wahlberg, John McEnroe and Jimmy Kimmel.

Barack Obama and LeBron James were among those who appeared in past years.

The Dolphins are off on Monday. On Tuesday, they’ll begin preparations for the Dec. 11 game against the Titans, Miami’s only Monday Night Football appearance this season.

ABC, ESPN and the NFL discussed moving next Monday’s Dolphins-Tennessee game from ESPN to ABC but ultimately decided to stick with its original plan of carrying Green Bay-Giants on ABC and Dolphins-Titans simultaneously on ESPN.

BAKER UPDATE

Linebacker Jerome Baker, who left Sunday’s win in Washington with a knee injury after a first-half collision with teammate Brandon Jones, will get clarity on his situation when he gets an MRI on Monday.

Baker’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, said on his weekly segment on WSVN-Fox 7 that “a lot is going to depend on the MRI. Mike McDaniel said the doctors don’t feel it’s season-ending. The X-rays were clean. Nothing that popped up on the X-ray. There is some thought it might be a medial collateral ligament injury. If that’s the case, in most instances, that is not surgical.”

Most MCL sprains typically heal in two to four weeks, though the most severe could take a bit longer. The medial collateral ligament (MCL) is one of four ligaments that keep the knee joint stable.
