Tahoe rallies remind tourists to clean up after themselves

Residents in the Lake Tahoe Basin rallied at five locations Friday evening to remind tourists to clean up after themselves after an influx of visitors fleeing the triple-digit heat left behind trash and litter. The so-called "Roundabout Rallies" were held at five major entry points to the Tahoe Basin. Organizers said they picked the locations and the timing on purpose –- that’s when most tourists begin to pour into the region. In an economy that relies on tourism, rally organizers said this is not about turning people away but rather educating them about their responsibility during the pandemic and beyond.
