Tahoe transportation plan means more trails over 25 years

With an estimated 10 million vehicles entering the Tahoe Basin each year, the focus has long been on finding ways to reduce car use in the region. Workshops are now underway examining the Tahoe Transportation Plan, which includes increased transit options between recreation areas, technology that allows travelers to find and reserve parking and an extensive trail system that will eventually circle Lake Tahoe. The plan is spearheaded by the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency with buy-in from around the lake, including both states, five counties and multiple agencies. Get the full story in the video above.
