His stories are about finding goodness in every house on every block while educating children about the postal service. His first book, published in 2020 is "Mailman Sonny and the Community;" book two is "Sonny the Mailman" and his latest book is "Sonny the Mailman, Puppy in the Window," about a pup he sees daily on his route.

Workman is a 1986 graduate of Clyde High School and a former Whirlpool employee for almost 30 years. He has been with the United States Post Office since 2015. His first route was in Clyde, but he later transferred to Fremont, where he got his inspiration for his books on his mail route.

There was a delay in the start of the flight around the world by former Clyde native, Tim Tarris and friend Buchanan Bleeker, Phoenix, Arizona The flight, which was to begin on Jan. 1, 2024, has been rescheduled to Jan. 29 for various reasons.
