Tamara Day Fans, Your Favorite HGTV Star Can Now Actually Design a Room for You
Kansas City native Tamara Day is known best for starring in Bargain Mansions, transforming neglected houses with her laid-back lux style, but the mother of four has kept HGTV and DIY viewers in mind for her next steps. The beloved star is crossing new horizons with her interior design skills officially launching an e-design website on Growing Days and fans are more than welcome to reach out for all their home design needs.
“We’ve been looking into this for the past two years, trying to figure out how to get the Growing Days designs out into the world, how to get my visions out there for the people that are asking,” Tamara tells House Beautiful. “We found this platform was a good fit and we’ve been building it within my office for quite a while now and I’m so excited to launch it.”
The home reno expert shared that the success of Bargain Mansions resulted in her receiving requests from fans wishing she could travel across the United States to redesign their homes. And although the reality of having young children couldn’t make that possible, she discovered a solution that cuts both the process time and cost while still creating personalized designs for any room—redesigning rooms online.
“We can do as much or as little online as someone wants, so from literally picking paint colors for one room to any full-scale design,” Tamara says. Fans and clients can choose from four different packages—named after her children—with add-on services, like a 40-minute video consultation with the HGTV star or paint and wallpaper consultation.

Of course, turnaround time depends on the individual request. While paint colors have a turnaround of 48 hours, full-scale renovation designs start off with identifying a project’s timeline within five business days after submission. Asking clients to provide Pinterest boards or inspiration pictures also helps Tamara understand the home’s vibe and what the design aim is.
“It actually has all the benefits of being in-person without all the other complications,” she explains. “It’s significantly easier for me to get it done faster online versus in-person. We have 3-D images, so you can really see and feel what the space is going to look like when we’re finished.”
For fans who love Tamara’s refurbishing skills, she also offers the option to purchase furniture straight from her. It goes without saying that the Missouri native adds her own special touch to every space thanks to her incredible thrift store finds and the inspiration she draws from both the Midwest and the nearby West coast.
“The Midwest is such a melting pot of style. We’re not tied to one style here and that helps me know that I can incorporate any look that I want into each home and keeps it unique every time,” Tamara says.
