Tamara Gregor: SCHS Column: Frankie needs love, active family

Oct. 4—A lovable and active pup bounced his way into The Banner office this week in hopes of finding his forever home after a lengthy stay at the shelter.

Every Tuesday, The Banner participates in the Stephens County Humane Society's (SCHS) Take Out Tuesday, during which one loving dog gets to have an afternoon out to run and play. This week, The Banner staff had the pleasure to hang out with Frankie for the day.

Frankie is around a year old and a pit bull terrier/cattle, blue heeler mixed breed. Frankie sports a brown and white coat with a few freckles on his face.

According to the SCHS, Frankie was surrendered to a local animal control office and the humane society took him in as soon as they had space.

During a typical outing at The Duncan Banner, a delicious two-cheeseburger lunch is provided and Frankie loved every bite.

Sitting and waiting for each bite, this sweet boy was very gentle and appreciative for his lunch.

With every passing minute, Frankie showed off just how well-behaved he can be, whether it is showcasing his great leash skills or coming when he is called. He is also the perfect dog to take along for car rides and will settle down and enjoy the cruise, only getting up occasionally to check out the surroundings outside of the car window.

As the afternoon progressed, Frankie took the weekly trek over to R&S Drug to meet a few more friends.

This sweet boy was eager to please and enjoyed a few treats, as well as a Puppuccino.

After a full belly, Frankie decided it was time to rest for a while and curled up for a bit and took a nap.

With impeccable manners and sweet disposition, this young boy is ready to love on his new family very soon.
