Tamara Gregor: SCHS Column: Ready to 'Ty' a bow around your heart

Mar. 1—One sweet pup loved running laps and circles around new friends during his afternoon outside the humane society on Tuesday.

Ty, a one-year-old black mouth cur, visited The Banner staff as our guest this week as part of Take Out Tuesday with the Stephens County Humane Society (SCHS).

This sweet little boy is a little nervous when entering new spaces, but the more you're able to engage with him, the quicker his tail and ears perk up.

Ty sports traditional black mouth cur features along with a cream-colored fur coat and his dark muzzle.

Dog treats weren't a personal favorite of Ty's, but a two-cheeseburger meal was a win for the afternoon.

As part of Take Out Tuesday, we always try to introduce pups to kids and Ty proved, in every way, he is a family dog and especially good with young children.

According to the humane society, Ty was found in a rural area as a stray, but is "eager to please" and is just the right age for some training.

While Ty is still in training mode, he minds well on a leash and will gladly escort his person outside for many walks around the blocks to enjoy the sunshine.

Ty is available for immediate adoption at SCHS along with some of his friends.

To inquire about Ty or any of our previous guests Sylvia, December, Phoenix and Lindsay, or any of the other dogs, or to set up an appointment, call 580-252-7387 between the hours of noon-4 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Friday and Saturday have extended hours until 6 p.m. SCHS is currently closed on Sundays.

The SCHS column is sponsored by Tractor Supply Co. and R&S Drug Store.
