Tamarack Fire Jumps Highway Near Markleeville, California

The Tamarack Fire burning in northern California grew to 50,129 acres as it crossed into Nevada on July 22.

The lightning strike-sparked blaze was four percent contained as of July 22, with authorities expecting to have the fire contained by August 31 at the earliest.
