Tamarack Fire Whips Up 'Fire Whirl' as Wildfire Spreads to Nevada

Footage released by firefighters on July 22 shows winds whipping up a “fire whirl” at the Tamarack Fire in Alpine County, California.

The fire, which was sparked by a lightning strike in the Mokelumne Wilderness in Alpine County on July 4, had reached over 50,000 acres and spread into Nevada on July 22, according to information from firefighting authorities.
