Ready for a little something spooky, kooky, or maybe ooky? Halloween is upon us and so is the time for movies that will have you shivering in your seat. Watching fabulously fun not-so-scary movies with the entire family is a great way to gear up for the big night. While these movies are all considered family-friendly, please check reviews on websites like imdb.com to make sure they’re appropriate for your family.

Whatever your family dresses up as this year, you’re sure to find some not-too-spooky fun with these entertaining, family friendly movies.

  • “Hocus Pocus” – In this 1993 classic, three witchy sisters come back to life after 300 years and attempt to gather the life force of children, which will keep them young. The sequel, “Hocus Pocus 2,” is new this fall, streaming exclusively on Disney+.

  • “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown” – Snoopy and the gang celebrate Halloween while Linus waits for the Great Pumpkin. This is a classic for all ages.

  • “The Addams Family” (1991) – This crazy and kooky family find long-lost Uncle Fester while living their everyday lives with lots of fun antics.

  • “Halloweentown” – A teenager discovers she’s a witch and follows her grandmother back to Halloweentown, which is full of fun witches, goblins, and the like.

  • “The Nightmare before Christmas” – The king of Halloween Town discovers Christmas Town but his attempts to bring Christmas to his home causes confusion.

  • “Casper” – A girl and a boy ghost become best of friends when she moves into the house he haunts.

  • “Muppets Haunted Mansion” – On Halloween night, Gonzo is challenged to spend one night in The Haunted Mansion.

  • “The Corpse Bride” – A Victorian man finds himself married to a corpse bride instead of his intended in this sweet film.

  • “Coraline” – A girl finds a hidden world where things are not as they seem.

  • “Hotel Transylvania” – Dracula operates a high-end resort away from the human world and a boy discovers the resort and falls for his daughter.
