TAMPA — A 20-year-old man is accused of fatally shooting a man Sunday after an argument, deputies say.

Ledsuy Sanchez Sanchez faces charges of second-degree murder, attempted murder with a firearm and two counts of tampering with physical evidence, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said they received a report at 7 a.m. Sunday that someone had been shot and wounded in the 4000 block of W Broad Street, in a neighborhood near AdventHealth Carrollwood hospital on N Dale Mabry Highway.

The wounded person suffered one gunshot to the upper body, deputies said. They were taken to the hospital for medical treatment, but later died of their injuries.

Sanchez and the wounded person knew each other, according to the Sheriff’s Office, and got into an argument before the shooting.

After the shooting, deputies say Sanchez twice tried to tamper with the firearm and hide other evidence. He was arrested that day and booked into the Hillsborough County jail, records show. The second-degree murder charge was added on Wednesday. He is being held without bail.
