Gordo High four-star quarterback Tanner Bailey has found a future home after decommitting from Oregon earlier this month.

The nation's No. 218 recruit according to the 247Sports Composite and South Carolina football announced Saturday afternoon he has signed with the Gamecocks.

Gordo chose Oregon in March 2021 but decommitted after coach Mario Cristobal left for the same position at Miami. South Carolina is No. 24 in the nation in the class of 2022 recruiting rankings.

"What a great opportunity for a great young man," Gordo coach Ryan Lolley said. "We enjoyed our time with him and what he's been able to do for our school and our program. Look forward to watching him in the future and every opportunity that he has to be successful. He's put in a lot of hard work, and we're very proud of him and happy for him and his family."

The quarterback reported an offer from Indiana one day after he decommitted from Oregon and took a visit there days later.

South Carolina landed former five-star Oklahoma quarterback Spencer Rattler in the transfer portal this month, too. The Gamecocks also have former four-star signal-caller Luke Doty in the quarterback room.

Bailey did not report an offer from South Carolina before announcing he signed. He led Gordo the AHAA Class 4A state championship game as a junior. Bailey passed for 2,401 yards and 33 touchdowns and rushed for three touchdowns as a senior.
