Since Tanya Tucker's iconic hit single "Delta Dawn" was released, a half-century has passed. The legendary country vocalist will celebrate the golden anniversary of the song's release on April 10 with a stop on her "Hard Luck" tour. Ryman Auditorium tickets are available on February 18.
The two-time Grammy-winning vocalist noted, "There's no room in the world like Ryman Auditorium. Every time I walk on that stage I feel the energy of all the legends who've graced the The Mother Church of Country Music before me. I can't wait to return in April and bring a few friends with me!"
Tucker has been off the road since March 2020 due to both COVID-19 and emergency hip replacement surgery, canceling both her dates, plus her appearances for CMT's Next Women of Country Tour. However, 2022 has already seen her appear alongside Brandi Carlile, Indigo Girls, Allison Russell, Yola, Margo Price and more at Carlile's third annual and just-completed Girls Just Wanna Weekend festival on Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula.
Written by rockabilly performer Larry Collins and country songwriter Alex Harvey, "Delta Dawn gained popularity as a song in the arsenal of Bette Midler and Barbra Streisand before hitting the top of the country charts when producer Billy Sherrill produced Tucker singing it for the then 14-year-old artist's debut album also entitled "Delta Dawn." After Tucker's version hit the top 10 of country's radio charts, Helen Reddy achieved a No. 1 Billboard Hot 100 hit with her version of the same song.

As well, a new documentary, "The Return of Tanya Tucker," will debut at the South by Southwest Film Festival in Austin this March. It will profile the recording process with Brandi Carlile for Tucker's 2019 album, While I'm Livin', which received two GRAMMY® Awards for Best Country Album and Best Country Song for the ballad "Bring My Flowers Now."
