- There hasn't been much to say about the Oakland A's in 2022, or rather, there hasn't been anything nice to say about them. But one of the few positive developments as of late, has been the quality and definitely surprising play of Christian Betancourt. In a loss to the guardians in the Sunday MLB leadoff game, Betancourt homered, doubled and stole a base in a loss to the guardians. Things have been really good for the top prospect in June, as he's homered four times at 27 plate appearances, with a 1.47 OPS for his trouble.

If we're being honest, we wouldn't be talking about Betancourt if not for two words, catcher, eligibility. While he's getting the majority of his playing time right now at first base, he is eligible to play catcher. And the fact that he's getting plenty of run while hitting in the middle of the Oakland lineup, as poor as that lineup may be, certainly adds a considerable amount of fantasy value for fantasy services, especially those steals. You can't expect offensive fireworks from Betancourt all year, but he doesn't have to be great to be relevant, as long as he's eligible behind the plate. If you need help at the position, you just might be part of the solution.
