Is Target open? What about Weberstown Mall? Here's what's open on Labor Day in Stockton

Get ready to kick your feet up and relax because Labor Day weekend is here. While the federal holiday doesn't prompt widespread closures like Thanksgiving and Christmas, some stores will be going dark for the day.

The holiday is "an annual celebration of the social and economic achievements of American workers," according to the U.S. Department of Labor.

The holiday traces its roots back to the late 19th Century, when labor activists pushed for a federal holiday to recognize the many contributions workers have made to American's strength, prosperity and well-being, according to the department.

From city and post offices to grocery stores and pharmacies, here's what's open and closed on Monday across Stockton.
